A few miles to the north, on the road Avola -Avola Antica easily acessibile from the B&B there is one of the biggest canyons in Europe offering you unforgettable views of the sea and on clear days you can see the famous Volcano Etna.
The canyon is about 250 meters deep and about 10 km long, and from the top you can take in the vista of the many lakes and the river Cacyparis in the valley below. Once you have descended, you can reach the lakes and during the summer it is possible to swim in the wonderfully clean , fresh water. There are many varieties of mediterranean plantlife including Thyme, Salvia, and orchids.
